My story
My name is Barbara and my love of baking began at a young age. I apprenticed with a professional pastry chef decades ago and sold specialty cakes to help fund my college tuition. Upon my recent retirement from a career in finance, I honed my skills at The New York Academy of Cake which is taught by an award winning expert in cake decorating. I am now pursuing my passion to teach others the fun of cake decorating as a way that they can impress their family and friends.
About Angels Watch
Enjoy the fun and creative experience of cake decorating/baking while meeting new people at a serene private estate in Old Lyme, Connecticut. The venue is equipped with a well-appointed gourmet kitchen. All supplies, decorating tools and aprons are provided for your use during the hands-on class.
Whether you’re a baking enthusiast or just looking to try something creative, these workshops are completely beginner friendly. To create a truly personalized experience with individualized instruction, class sizes are limited. Classes are great for individuals, events and couples. The minimum age for children is 12 years old. Private and special group classes are available upon request. Feel free to request specific weekdays that are not found on the site.
To promote a germ-free environment, please wear clean, comfortable indoor shoes or slippers. No heels please. Due to potential allergy concerns, we are a strict nut, pet and smoke-free environment.
Profits from the hands-on classes will be donated to various charitable organizations. Two of the current charities are Cake for Kids and Icing Smiles.
If it is necessary to cancel an event due to inclement weather or forces beyond our control (power outage, facility issues, etc.) we will offer a new date for your event.
